CD Request Challenge Empty CD Request Challenge

Post by Staci Wed Jun 30, 2010 3:33 pm

I have been listening to podcasts from CD Baby, where Paul sells his CDs. They actually take user requests. I was thinking that this would be a great way to get Paul's music out to the masses. Now they do contact the artists, so I was thinking that we should request that they play something from his Christmas CD. That way they have time to contact him, get his permission research him, etc... and he will be out on tour when they get ready to air pod cast. We can request something from Velvet too, I was just thinking given the fact that contacting the artist might slow things down the Christmas CD might be better. So here are places you can request his music. (BTW you can do the same thing for Sephira too Wink )

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] post a request in user comments I think.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] post a request on their wall.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] This is actually the podcast's wall so try there too.

They have several different podcasts. Some of them are interesting, others well they just remind me that I like a lot of different music. Wink You can download all their podcasts from iTunes too. Oh and I think you can even review their podcasts at iTunes. I haven't done that yet.

I enjoy their sense of humor over at CD Baby. I'm sure you've seen this, Staci, but for anyone else who perhaps hasn't ordered anything from CD Baby, this is the email confirmation you receive when you order from them:

Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.
We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day.
We hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. In commemoration, we have placed your picture on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Sigh...
We miss you already. We'll be right here at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] patiently awaiting your return.

I forgot to mention. Remember to include Paul's MySpace page [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] since it has other music they can sample.

Feel free to use this thread to brainstorm other things to include.

Does anyone know where Paul is and how he is doing? Do you really think he has been sitting in Spain for a month?

It is hard to believe that Paul would just sit around all the time. I just hope and pray that he has been off doing some of his charity work or working on an album or something. Maybe I am way off base but this just doesn't sound like Paul.
I worry way to much but just can't figure it out. I hope to God he is not sick like last year.

Hoping and praying we will hear something soon.

Hi Jeano,
Yep I believe 100% that Paul has been sitting in Spain for a month.
I'm not inclined to think there is anything sinister about Paul staying in Spain for an extended break if he has the time. Many Irish people have either got 2nd homes there or have access to those belonging to family or friends and they basically decamp from Ireland for a month or 6 weeks in the summer. There are direct flights to many airports in Spain from Dublin, and Belfast and if booked at the right time of year it often costs only about $120 for a return flight so its not expensive to get to - (the same price as a tank of gas) you'd spend that driving the length of Ireland for a holiday in Cork or Kerry or Donegal so lots of people follow the sun and mediterranean lifestyle now instead - What's not to love about Spain - easy to get to from Ireland and it costs less to live there so your Euro goes further than at home. Its a win win situation with better weather, cheaper food, fab cocktails and Spanish champagne LOL.
I did the same thing from the middle of June till the middle of July, (not the same part of Spain as Paul or Damo went to) and it was a fantastic vacation. We were very lucky as a family member lent us their house because they were going over for a month after we left so it was not being used.

I agree with Mariclare. I think Paul is indeed in Spain and it is great he is. I just think of the 3 or 4 months tour that comes soon and I hope he is recharging his batteries before going on tour. I would worry if he had worked the last 4 weeks. I don't want him to be over-worked and get sick. So I am happy he is enjoying his holiday with Dom and some further members of the Coulter family as Damian said. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks Mariclare and Claudi

In the states only the rich and retired (us having a place to stay) can afford to stay away for a month.

I am just an old mother hen that worries too much.

Jean, I can understand you. You just want to be sure that Paul is well and fine. I think he would let us know if he wouldn't feel well. He did last year.
I would like to spend a month abroad too. I am jealous! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] I hope he brings us some souvenirs. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I have to admit, Paul's done a much better job of keeping in touch than I would if I were in Spain!

Laura, isn't it a universal rule to bring back souvenirs to your family and friends AND Byrom Babes?!?!? Laughing

I probably would have done it like Damo and left my laptop at home. So, yeah Paul did a great job of keeping in touch.

Haha! Claudi and Laura you two are too funny.

I haven't been on here much lately but I've been lurking just to keep tabs on Paul and everyone. I was in a car accident and have been in physical therapy, massage therapy and chiropractic therapy 4 and 5 times a week since May. When I needed a pick me up I came on here for some laugh therapy.

Thanks everyone for having great senses of humor!!!

Karen ♥️x♥️ Smile

Souvenirs!! Do you think he will bring back some Byrom Babe Tshirts for us?

He was supposed to start a new site and sell merchandise, like tshirts! By the time he gets home, he will have to rehearse and then get ready to tour. Then touring for 3 mo., I guess we are not going to get our Byroms Babes shirts this year. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So sorry to hear that you were in a car accident, Karen, and sorry to hear it was such a bad accident that you've been in physical therapies for the last few months!!!! Very glad that you are on the road to recovery, though!

Life is too short to be so serious-no one ever makes it out alive so we might as well have some fun while we're here! Besides, if we can't laugh at ourselves, well.......we can always laugh at strangers! Wink

I wish you a speedy and pain free recovery!

Thanks everyone. I am doing much better. The silver lining in this whole thing is that with all the physical therapy I'm really getting in good physical condition, the best I've been in YEARS and I've lost 27.5 pounds. I'm very proud of that. I can't wait until my neck is better so my headaches go away. I've been listening to Paul's Velvet and his Christmas CD as a way to relax. So Paul has been one of my physical therapists... now that's not too bad! Eyebrows

PS: Paul if you ever come on here and read these I can just imagine your eyebrows going into overdrive trying to figure out what the ladies are fantasizing.... not to worry at least from me.
